Why did you begin searching for a new school management system?

Here at ISP we’ve been working with iSAMS now for several years. ISP decided we weren’t that happy with our existing MIS several years ago and there was some functionality missing, it wasn’t very good with integration, and our schools weren’t that happy. As we were getting bigger, we felt that we needed a more user-friendly system and something that was really good with integrations.

I’ve worked with iSAMS for several years. I really enjoyed that we put the customer first. I work with a team that just really focused on improving the service all the time.

Ben Jones - ISP and iSAMS Project Manager

How did iSAMS make sure the system was right for ISP?

iSAMS is very supportive in terms of working with us in a collaborative way to make sure that the solution that we provided met our needs – whether that be local compliance requirements from Ministry of Education in different countries, or on the NetSuite side. We were using NetSuite for our accounts receivable, invoicing and billing, and we need a new set of integrations to be built so that we could request the invoices from iSAMS, but actually get them generated from NetSuite.

We were pleasantly surprised by the level of service and support that we got through that iSAMS development.

We met with the team at ISP to talk about their experience with the iSAMS team and how the project has evolved to better support their schools. Watch the full video below.

How was your implementation and integration experience with iSAMS?

The iSAMS project team set up weekly meetings with our regional implementation team and take them through the process really slowly, asking where they’re at, what needs to be done next, ensuring all their data is correct.

We have a QA process within our team and then the QA process at iSAMS to make sure the data going in is really good. With the pilot schools, we set up a phased implementation and training process. Phase one and phase two, which worked really well for us.

The first phase is the main bulk of iSAMS and, because we had the Spanish speaking schools, iSAMS gave us a Spanish speaking trainer, which was really great and a huge advantage for those schools. Most of the training was remote, so we have the videos of those training calls, which enables staff to actually go back and review the training. Again, a huge help and the schools have used those videos, and we’ve used them for other schools too – before they go into the phases themselves.

After several implementations, we just get together and have a little session. We ask questions like, what could we have done differently? What worked well? What could we do slightly better? That process has led to improvements for our team within ISP, but also the help and support that we get from iSAMS. We’ve tweaked the training slightly, and again, iSAMS have been really adaptable on this, and have taken our notes of how we use the system with their training.

How has your overall experience with iSAMS been?

I found the whole process has been enjoyable from my point of view, but also extremely efficient, very well planned and thought out from iSAMS. They’ve helped us hugely to implement a real process of how to get the system into the schools and being used.

We have had a really good working experience with iSAMS and they’ve been incredibly, helpful, adaptable, flexible.
